Thank you for dropping by my website! My name is Sandra and I have been walking for a cure since 2003! This means 2012 marks my 10th anniversary of participation in multi-day, breast cancer fundraising walk events! During this time I have walked over 4,950 miles in training and have raised over $49,000 for the breast cancer cause.
My goal with this website is keep my friends, family, and supporters up-to-date on my walk journey each year. You will find a blog, newsletters, statistics, some of my favorite links, training information and my donor honor roll.
***I have added a page to my site called I hope to educate you about breast cancer in some small way. What I present only touches the surface, but hopefully you will come away better informed and able to search for the information you may be seeking.***

****JUST ONE EXAMPLE OF WHY I CONTINUE TO WALK****
"Bridget Spence, diagnosed at the age of 21 with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, shares her personal story of survival and how Susan G. Komen helped her every step of the way. Bridget shared her story to nearly 1,000 representatives from Komen Affiliates, Partners and Grantees attending the opening session of the 2012 Susan G. Komen Leadership Conference." ~ As posted on YouTube by Susan G. Komen. Please watch
Bridget also writes a blog about living with metastatic breast cancer called "My Big Girl Pants." You can find that here.
Everyone has his or her reasons for jumping into the breast cancer movement. Obviously, it is far more personal for some and no reason is superior to another. However, since this is my website what I present is why I continue in this journey and Bridget just happens to put a face and voice to a disease in the most eloquent way.
It's quick and painless to donate online. Just click below to go directly to my official 3-Day fundraising page.

**DONATIONS BY CHECK**
Many of your prefer to make your donations via check. This is fine, but please make your checks payble to:
SUSAN G. KOMEN 3-DAY
I have received some checks made payable directly to me or Walking for a Cure. If I do receive a check made payable to me, I will make an online donation entering your information as the donor, but pay using my credit card. I will then print out the tax receipt and send it to you. I cannot accept checks made payable to "Walking for a Cure." Thank you.
